Are the tickets booked on date and time slot?

Yes. Your tickets are only valid on the date and time slot that you picked during the booking proces. It’s not possible to do the canal cruise earlier or later.

I have not received my e-tickets – what should I do?

Please send an e-mail to reservations@blueboat.nl with the name on your ticket, the date and (if applicable) the time you have booked tickets for or call us at +31 20 679 1370.

Does Blue Boat Company accept credit cards?

Of course! We accept Visa, MasterCard & American Express. We do have a € 25 minimum on credit card payments.

Is it warm on boat?

Yes, our comfortable and heated boats will keep you warm during the cold winter months!

Will there be a guide on board?

Our regular Amsterdam Light Festival cruise includes an audio guide in Dutch and English that tells you a fun and informative story about the art works and places that you’re passing. Your captain is also your live guide on the open boat!

Do I have to wait for a long time?

We request everyone to arrive at least 15 minutes earlier, so that we can calmly board the boat and leave on time.

There aren’t any children’s ticket available for the open boat. Are they sold out?

We don’t have children’s tickets for the open boat so you’d have to buy regular tickets for them. But kids are more than welcome!

Blue Boat is an official partner of the Amsterdam Light Festival. What does this mean?

Correct! That means that we’ll provide you with the official audio guide and ensures that you’re receiving the correct information. In addition, we make a payment to the festival. This finances the festival and ensures that they can continue every year.

Can I bring my own food?

Unfortunately it is not allowed to bring your own food and/or drinks on board the city canal cruise or the evening cruise.

Can I bring a pram/stroller on board?

Strollers have to be folded up as much as possible and left at the dock.

Can I bring my dog?

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed on regular cruises (except guide dogs). If you book a private boat, we do allow pets under certain conditions.

Do you have a special children’s price?

Children under 3 are free, provided they sit on their parent’s lap. For children aged 3-11, we have a special children’s rate.

I’m in a wheelchair. Can I come and sail with you?

Yes, you can! We have four wheelchair accessible boats departing daily: at 17:00, 17:30, 19:15 and 19:45. Please note that it’s necessary to make a reservation beforehand.

I forgot something on board!

You can check al our lost & found items on our ilost page. If we have found your item, it will be on here and you can claim it directly!

Will I get seasick?

It is very unlikely. Our boats mostly sail within Amsterdam’s city centre, where the water usually stays very calm.

Is there a toilet on board?

Yes, every boat has a toilet.

What happens when it rains/storms/freezes?

Our boats have a roof that can close fully and we have central heating on board, so even if it is cold outside, you will be warm inside. We mostly sail within the canals where the water stays very calm, so we can sail in almost any weather. In the rare circumstance where we are not able to sail due to a high water level, persistant storm or frost, you can cancel or reschedule your cruise without charge.

Do you have lifejackets and/or safety buoys on board?

Of course! Every boat is equipped with 4 safety buoys. In addition, the seatings is removable and can be used as a flotation device.

Can I smoke on board?

Smoking is only allowed on our outside deck.

Do you sell gift certificates?

Yes, we do. You can pick them up at our ticket office at the Stadhouderskade, opposite number 25, or you can contact our booking department to order (reservations@blueboat.nl / +31 20 679 13 70)

Where can I park my car?

The closest multistorey carpark is called “Byzantium”. It is located at the Stadhouderskade, a 5 minute walk from our dock.

Where can we park our coach?

Just across the street from our docks is a temporary carpark for coaches. You can park there to drop off or pick up your guests. It is not allowed to leave the bus there!
